Physio Tips for Berry Pickers:

  1. Warm up your low back and leg muscles with some stretches before you leave home.
  2. Frequently change your position to avoid straining joints and over-using muscles (at least every 5-10 minutes).
  3. After crouching or kneeling, stand up and gently lean backwards with your hands on your hips for stability.  DO NOT CREATE PAIN -- and be careful if have or have had back problems.
  4. Wear a good hat (ie, with a wide brim) and sunscreen.
  5. Remember to take a water bottle.
